Rating Appeals

Quantum Property Consultants offer a full rating service and are dedicated to ensuring that businesses are not paying in excess of the level they should be. The current rating system is being re-valued and we are aware that many businesses are often confused, frustrated and bewildered. At Quantum, we have a number of chartered surveyors who are actively involved in advising clients on minimising their exposure to business rates and are confident we can achieve results.

Who Can Appeal?

Four parties can appeal a valuation:

1. The occupier
2. An occupier of relevant property in respect of any other property in the same rating area
3. The rating authority itself
4. A person who has an interest in a property

There are certain guidelines for any appeal. The appeal must be in writing, specify the grounds of the appeal, provide an estimate of the property’s value, and be accompanied by a fee.
